Irish authors William Trevor, Colm Tóibín and Ed O'Loughlin are among the 13 writers on the longlist for the 2009 Man Booker Prize.
Trevor, who has been shortlisted four times for the Man Booker Prize, is longlisted for 'Love and Summer'.
Tóibín, who has been shortlisted twice, is longlisted for 'Brooklyn'.
'Not Untrue & Not Unkind' is O'Loughlin's debut novel.
The other 10 longlisted authors are: AS Byatt ('The Children's Book'), JM Coetzee ('Summertime'), Adam Foulds ('The Quickening Maze'), Sarah Hall ('How to Paint a Dead Man'), Samantha Harvey ('The Wilderness'), James Lever ('Me Cheeta'), Hilary Mantel ('Wolf Hall'), Simon Mawer ('The Glass Room'), James Scudamore ('Heliopolis') and Sarah Waters ('The Little Stranger').
The Man Booker Prize shortlist will be announced on 8 September, with the winner announced on 8 October.
